Microsoft president of Windows division, Steven Sinofsky demoed the next Generation of Windows at the D9 conference. The first look at some of the reference platforms from AMD, Intel, ARM and NVIDIA showed a tile based interface reminiscent of Windows Phone 7 UI. Microsoft has been planning to get Windows 8 on tablets as well as your PC. Its no wonder, Microsoft has incorporated the Metro UI from its Windows Phone 7 stable to their full fledged Desktop OS. The above screenshot shows the date, day and time which is quite similar to the Windows Phone 7 home screen. And don’t worry you can change the background (if you are creeped out like me by the weird guy on the logon screen).
