Firefox’s new-tab and default home page to get some much deserved love from Mozilla.

Mozilla has been on a record run with Firefox’s new releases currently numbered at 6 with the release of Firefox 9 withing a period of  9 months. Although much of the UI has been overhauled from version 3.6, the default home page and new-tab page have remained pretty much unchanged. Firefox 9 is now available with a speedier JavaScript engine.

Mozilla has returned with yet another update for Firefox web browser and this time we do have something to cheer about. Firefox 9 comes with a speedier JavaScript engine that makes its script processing 30% faster in benchmarks. This new JavaScript trickery is being labeled as Type Inference. Another major improvement is the addition of “ two finger swipe navigation ” in Mac OS X Lion. Also the theme integration for Mac OS X has been improved. Head on past the break for the download links.

Firefox 6 breaks out ahead of schedule, officially available on August 16th

The complete build of Firefox 6 is now available for download. It doesn’t bring any breathtaking cosmetic changes but the innards are something to talk about. It feels snappier and seems fully baked this time around. Mozilla Firefox to get a very nice facelift soon.

Mozilla has put Firefox development in jump start mode ant the output has put two new versions within the last few months and a new version Firefox 6 is already in public beta with Firefox 7 in development. Firefox 5 was not a major upgrade from Firefox 4, but took care of certain issues. Now, we have come across some internal documents of the UI Development team of Mozilla. Customize Firefox 4 UI with a few neat tricks (get rid of that annoying orange color and make it slimmer).

Hate that orange Firefox Button at the top of Firefox 4 window ? You are not alone. While browsing through Mozilla’s developer forum, I stumbled across a file called “userChrome.css” through which you can customize many of the UI elements of Firefox 4. Just have a look at the pic above you’d understand what I mean. Read on for a step-by-step procedure to get that awful orange color out of the way and slim down Firefox 4 navigation(even slimmer than Chrome).
