Windows 8 demoed, shows its two-faced UI and its gorgeous.

Microsoft president of Windows division, Steven Sinofsky demoed the next Generation of Windows at the D9 conference. The first look at some of the reference platforms from AMD, Intel, ARM and NVIDIA showed a tile based interface reminiscent of Windows Phone 7 UI. Windows 7 becomes the most used desktop OS in the States

To tell you the truth I have used almost all of Microsoft Windows iterations from way back when and the two that stand out to me are Windows XP and Windows 7. I am not going to go Vista bashing here, it was a good OS, but thankfully we have moved on. The story goes that Windows 7 has finally gained a hair over XP in the Desktop OS market share in the US. Windows 8 login and Ribbon UI screenshots leaked.

Microsoft has been planning to get Windows 8 on tablets as well as your PC. Its no wonder, Microsoft has incorporated the Metro UI from its Windows Phone 7 stable to their full fledged Desktop OS. The above screenshot shows the date, day and time which is quite similar to the Windows Phone 7 home screen. And don’t worry you can change the background (if you are creeped out like me by the weird guy on the logon screen).
