Google “Zerg rush” and try do defend your search results from attack of the O’s

Google has hidden another Easter Egg in its search results. Googling “Zerg rush” transforms the search results page into a game where your search results are being attacked by a swarm of O’s. The objective is to defend your search results from being obliterated. Each O can be destroyed by clicking in it three times. A life bar will appear above your target O until it disappears. If you fail to stop them, your search results will be consumed by the hungry O’s. More after the break.

Google adds site blocking feature to its search results

Now you can block unwanted search results or irrelevant content from being search simply through your browser. Google had previously introduced a Chrome extension that allowed users to block sites from showing up on Google’s search results but now you can block search results irrespective of the browser you use.

Cover Story: Google publicly accuses Bing of stealing search results

Everybody knows that Bing doesn’t hold a candle in front of Google in terms of users therefore it’s not surprising the Bing team has been caught copying and correcting top misspelled search terms, with data mined from Google’s results.

The blog Search Engine Land uses the example of “torsoraphy,” which Google corrects to the correct spelling of “tarsorrhaphy” and brings up relevant search results for that term. Once you head on over to Bing and type in that misspelled word, and what do you get? The Wikipedia page for “tarsorrhaphy,” but no correction.
