Consider this a most speculative bit of news for now, but a few Facebookers have today been confronted by a new, unseen before “Call” button when visiting their friends’ profiles. Mashing on that icon didn’t connect them and their buddies don’t seem to have received any alerts at all, but the fact remains that the world’s most popular website just did something a little bit different. The logical suspicion is that the Skype partnership that saw Facebook Connect infiltrate the web telephony service is now bearing fruit in the other direction with us seeing a bit of Skype functionality being built into the social network.

The Facebook movie – “One of the Best Movies of the year”

The first preview of the Social Network has left the reviewers gasping for breath in between their laughs, even making Peter Sciretta declare it as his “favorite movie of the year(so far)”.

This is of course not the final cut of the movie, but was a preview screening for a select publications, and looking at their reactions, this could well be on its way to becoming a multi award winner. Mark Zuckerberg turns out to be Block-Me-Not on Facebook

Mark Zuckerberg is unblockable on Facebook. If you try, you’ll get a message saying, “General Block failed error: Block failed.” Yup, you read it right the first time. You CANNOT block him from your profile.

It’s not that the Facebook founder is spamming your account but there is a website that has sprouted called Block Zuck for people who are absolutely sick of Facebook’s choices and want to rebel. So what you say, shouldn’t you have the choice to Block Zuck !

Facebook Places now online in the US

Facebook, the world’s largest social network, with over 500 million users, rolled out it’s geo-location service yesterday, called Facebook Places.

Facebook’s geo-locations service allows you to see where your friends are and share your location in the real world. When you use Places, you’ll be able to see if any of your friends are currently checked in nearby and connect with them easily.

The new features are similar to other location startups such as Foursquare, Yelp, Gowalla and Booyah. Read on for the in-depth coverage.
