Just three weeks ago we saw Apple become the world’s second largest public company behind Exxon with about a $60 billion market cap between them.  Then we also saw that Apple had more cash than the US federal reserve. Then the markets collapsed and they hit Exxon hard, reducing the difference in market cap to just $500 million. Apple recovered better from the crash and surged ahead of Exxon and now the lead is about $1 Billion and counting. The share markets are as unpredictable as Lady Gaga’s hairstyles, so a lead of $1 billion may not stand long, but then again no one expected Apple to surge pass Exxon within just a few weeks.
