Facebook releases “new” widescreen photoviewer, Google+ users remain nonchalant.

Facebook’s re-design of the photo-viewer is now rolling out to the masses. The design now incorporates a landscape orientation, with the comments and tag information moved to the right of the photo you are viewing. The maximum allowed image width is more than 900 pixels. In essence it allows users to scroll through more comments and respond to friends on the photo without leaving the page/profile they were on.

Microsoft loses 2 key execs within a span of a few weeks.

In a possible shuffle or otherwise Microsoft has lost two biggies within its ranks. The two people who have left Microsoft are Brandon Watson, head of developer experiences of the Windows Phone division and Stephen Toulouse, the Director of Policy and Enforcement for the Xbox LIVE service. Firefox 10 now available for download, has a disappearing act in-store for you.

Firefox 10 is now available for download. Since we already know the UI uplift of the browser will begin with version 12, most things are under the hood this time around. Among other things it adds a disappearing forward button, which only appears once you have used the back button. Now for the less important stuff, you get a code inspector baked into Firefox akin to webkit’s “Inspect Element” and Microsoft’s “Developer Tools”.  Keep reading past the break to see the working of the developers tools.

Jon Rubinstein leaves HP after fulfilling commitment.

Palm’s former chief, Jon Rubinstein, has left Hewlett Packard since the agreed upon commitment period of 24 months ended. An HP spokesperson confirmed the story by saying that the said commitment period decided when HP acquired Palm had ended and therefore Jon was leaving the organization. Firefox 9 is now available with a speedier JavaScript engine.

Mozilla has returned with yet another update for Firefox web browser and this time we do have something to cheer about. Firefox 9 comes with a speedier JavaScript engine that makes its script processing 30% faster in benchmarks. This new JavaScript trickery is being labeled as Type Inference. Another major improvement is the addition of “ two finger swipe navigation ” in Mac OS X Lion. Also the theme integration for Mac OS X has been improved. Head on past the break for the download links.

Nokia Rises with the Dark Knight, reveals limited edition Lumia 800

As the next and probably last of the Batman trilogy gets ready for release, Nokia partnered up for the Dark Knight Rises. You can now get a Lumia 800 engraved with the Batman logo.
