Nokia heralds the future with NFC for music streaming and integrated wireless charging

Nokia has been a pioneer in mobile technology for quite some time now. The Lumia 920 is no exception. With the new device Nokia has tapped NFC for music streaming. Just tap the smartphone on a compatible speaker dock and the music automatically starts playing on the other device. Nokia demonstrated the functionality with a JBL speaker dock that allows for Wireless charging of the phone when its playing music as well. NFC music streaming  was demonstrated in another instance with a JBL headphone. More on wireless charging after the break.

This is where we come to the Wireless Charging feature of the Nokia Lumia 920. Trust me, this is not a gimmick. Nokia has teamed up with Virgin Atlantic and the coffee chain Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf to begin seeding wireless charging stations in airport lounges and coffee shops. The company is also  is also working with a multitude of wireless charging companies like FatBoy to advertise and offer in-home wireless charging accessories, including their own branded dock.
