The $199 Nexus tablet is still the reigning champ among Android tablets, and Google has made the purchase even more lucrative with $25 Google Play credit. But if a report is to be believed a cheaper $100 Nexus tablet might already be in development and may arrive in time for Christmas. The report states that that Google might be working with Asus to create a slimmer $199 Nexus tablet along with a budget friendly $100 variant. It might in-fact be an answer to the pending iPad mini and chew into some of its profits. The original nexus 7 kept its price low without cutting many corners, at just $200 you get 1 GB of RAM, a quad-core Tegra 3 processor, NFC, GPS, microphone, and a front-facing camera. The report cites sources that say these tablets will be available by year end.
