
Samsung has dived right into Windows 8 in all its touch goodness. There’s the ATIV Smart PC and Smart PC Pro, ATIV Tab and the Series 5 Ultra Touch. There’s one for everybody. If you’re getting confused what ATIV means, well its just “VITA” spelled backwards, since nowadays Samsung is all about nature and life. ATIV Smart PC and Smart PC Pro
These hybrid offering from Samsung is a mixture of a touchscreen tablet and a detachable keyboard. Making both the ATIV Smart PC and Smart PC Pro usable as both a Tablet and a Laptop. Both the versions sport 10-finger multi-touch screens 11.6 inch screens with S Pen for drawing and writing. In terms of connectivity you have a micro-HDMI port, 3G and 4G connectivity options, USB 2.0 ports on the keyboard as well as a miniSD card slot. Both will also run the full version of Windows 8.

The Smart PC is 9.9 mm thick and has a 1366×768 pixel display. The innards contain an Intel Atom Clover Trail processor, which allows for its 13.5 hour marked battery life. There’s 2GB of RAM and upto 128 GB flash storage. The device also features a 2 megapixel front and 8 megapixel rear shooter.

The Smart PC Pro is the leader of the bunch in terms of sheer performance to size ratio. It features a full HD 1920×1080 11.6 inch display, 4GB of RAM a choice of Intel Ivy Bridge Core i3/i5 with upto 256GB SSD storage. Prices have been set for October 26 (coinciding with Windows 8 official release) at $650 for a base Smart PC, $750 for a keyboard bundle, and $1,120 for the Smart PC Pro.
ATIV Tab

The ATIV tab is the ARM counterpart to the Smart PC’s. It resembles the Galaxy Tab 10.2 in many respects but features Windows RT under the hood. The tablet features a 10.1 inch 1366 x 768 pixel display running on a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 2GB of RAM, with an option for 32GB or 64GB storage. For your point and shoot needs it features a 5 megapixel rear camera with LED flash as well as a 1.9 megapixel front facing camera. In terms of connectivity supports WiFi, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro HDMI and has a variety of sensors to keep everyone interested.
Samsung Series 5 Ultra Touch

This is the same Series 5 device we saw back at Computex. It features a 13 inch 1366×768 pixel display with option for Core i3 or Core i5 Ivy Bridge processor. There’s 500 GB of storage on offer alongwith 4GB of RAM, and 24GB of ExpressCache.The Series 5 offering has a variety of Samsung software like the S-Launcher which is a replacement for the newly-removed Start Menu. As well as, eSettings which is a hub for power management and display settings that can be hard to locate in Windows 8. There are also hubs for music, videos, social, and other media types. The entire Windows 8 range of hardware from Samsung will be available come October 26, the official date of Windows 8 release.
