Microsoft’s Surface launch was as surprising to us as its most trusted OEM partners. Surface is a pure, polished device which defies everything that was bloated about Windows and to some extent Microsoft. With a new design language previously known as Metro (now Windows 8 Interface), Microsoft has delivered in the form of its Surface tablets. According to sources, we can say that if things go according to plan Surface for Windows RT will be available come October 26th for the price of just $199. That would undercut its OEM partner by some amount. This would bring Surface in direct competition with Nexus 7 and even Kindle Fire. The thing that remains to be seen is what its OEM partners will do in the coming months to tackle this unprecedented challenge.
