Google has just announced that it will start decreasing relevance of sites that have takedown notices from DMCA, suggesting that the site either has engaged in copyright infringement or has been a part of it. Google said in the statement that “this ranking change should help users find legitimate, quality sources of content more easily”. Google has also made sure that no one is wrongly affected with this change, if your website is wrongly targeted by the algorithm, you can file a Counter Notice against the removal.
