Facebook users in the United Kingdom can now play, Bingo Friendzy, that allows players to gamble live cash without going through Facebook’s credits system. The game currently offers a casino-type slots game and 90 Ball Bingo for players above the age of 18. With Facebook credits users had to forego 30% of the transaction as commission to Facebook, but with this new game players will be able to transact in cold hard cash. The game requires for users to register outside of Facebook with their email address and physical address. Facebook will also double check age of the user through credit card verification. A statement from Julien Codorniou, Facebook’s Head of EMEA Gaming Partnerships and more after the break.
People love playing new types of games with their friends on Facebook, and real money gaming is a popular leisure activity in the UK. We’re delighted to be working with Gamesys to enable them to offer their games on Facebook so that people can enjoy playing more games with their friends.
While Bingo Friendzy is currently limited to the UK, Zynga is planning to launch similar games in the US. The only caveat remaining that several states forbid online gambling.
