Our in-house development team has developed a new file manager for Android smartphones. Its easy to use without the clutter of too many useless features. It stays out of the way while you search for and use your files. Its intuitive, fast and takes less than 200 KB of space for installation. Its a great little app to manage your files/folders. Different icons for file types, in-line thumbnails for images and app icons, and many other features along with an ICS styled UI for all android versions up from Android 2.1 make this a must download for every user. Jump Scroll – Instantaneous alphabetic search
We have also added a new feature “Jump Scroll” for faster searching of files. Using the “a-z” button located at the right bottom corner of the app, you trigger the alphabetic Jump Scroll. The screen populates with the first letters of the available file/folder names and you can just press the alphabet to get to the items beginning with that letter allowing instantaneous access to the files you want. Jump Scroll is switched on by default and it remains hidden till you activate it. Jump scroll is only available if you have more than 5 items in a folder. It adapts to screen orientation to make better use of screen real-estate. Jump Scroll works best if you have alphabetic sorting with “List Folders First” disabled from settings. This is on top of an already fast and robust search system which filters search based on which folder you are currently in.
Other Features
The app uses very little RAM as well as storage space, what’s more its movable to the SD card to save more space. In multi-mode you can use batch operations on file. Selection is as easy as just long touching on the file/folder you want to select, in single mode on long touch a menu is displayed with relevant file operations. There is no jarring change in UI when searching or from moving from one activity to another. All messages are displayed within the app relating to the operation in progress. All file/folder operations are cancelable. The UI is reminescent of Android ICS, but it is more enhanced in terms of usability and adaptability. You can shift from portrait to landscape mode to see the proper use of screen space. such nifty little features are all in-built to help you use your files rather than fidget with the User Interface. Most operations are single touch, and have been designed to ease usability. There are several customizations inbuilt with more on the way to give you a pleasant experience.
