British automaker Jaguar has gone ahead with the production model of the C-X75 Hybrid Supercar. The car was the center of attention at the Paris Auto Show last fall and while many speculated it ever hitting the streets, now we see that concept becoming a reality. Keep reading for some vrooming pics.
The “green” C-X75 can do 0 – 60 MPH in less than 3 seconds and tops out north of 200 MPH and that too as minimal CO2 emissions as the Toyota Prius. That’s why it costs as much too, coming in at 700,000 pounds or about $1.1 Million.
Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar’s brand director, said in a statement:
People expect Jaguar to be innovators. That is when Jaguar is at its best. The C-X75 received an incredible reception as a concept car. We’ve been building on that momentum and there is a clear business case for this exclusive halo model. No other vehicle will better signify Jaguar’s renewed confidence and excellence in technological innovation than this.
And you ask where did that sleek aerodynamic chassis come from. Well it came from the , Williams F1 team who have honed their expertise in the Formula 1 racing. Although nothing much was released in the way of specs but what we came to know was that it would feature a highly boosted gasoline engine with two electric motors for an all-wheel drive system. The range of the car in all electric mode is expected to be 50 KM.
The only downer is that Jag will produce only 250 of these. So , do you have change in your pocket ?
