Mozilla has released the final version of Firefox 4 and it has already been downloaded more than 2 Million times in just a few hours. In your face you know who !

Three years ago, Firefox 3 set the record for most downloads in a 24-hour period, cracking 8 million and positioning itself as a viable alternative to Internet Explorer. Now we have Firefox 4 which has already been downloaded more than 2 million times in the 6 hours of its release in front of Microsoft’s claim that Internet Explorer 9 was downloaded 2.4 million times in 24 hours.

The new browser is fast and more reliable compared to the previous versions. It has a new minimalist interface and tab loading times have been reduced as well.

Although it took more than two and a half years for Firefox 4 to get here, it seems we have one more competitor in the browser wars and its here to stay. To stay up to date with the number of downloads of Firefox 4, Mozilla has also put a website which gives realtime downloads of its new browser, check it out here.
